On 1 August 2026, the practices of Balanced Accounting Pty Ltd and Franze & Company Pty Ltd joined to form Napier Drummond Partners.

The name reflects the two predecessor firms, which were based on Napier Street, Essendon (Balanced Accounting) and Drummond Street, Carlton (Franze & Co), and their client bases.

Joseph Franze, the principal of Franze & Co, has worked in public practice for more than 20 years, bringing deep experience across accounting, taxation and finance, along with a strong personal commitment to client service. Joseph lives locally in Essendon with his wife and three children, who attend nearby schools and sports clubs.

Andrew McCrae, the principal of Balanced Accounting, has worked in public practice and industry for more than 30 years. Andrew’s expertise and experience across a wide range of industries have made him a trusted adviser to SME clients through to ASX-listed entities. Andrew also provides independent advisory services to high-net-worth individuals and family offices managing intergenerational wealth.

Joseph and Andrew have known each other for more than 25 years, having worked together earlier in their careers — Andrew as Business Services Manager at BDO Australia, and Joseph as Tax Manager at ANZ Banking Group.

Together, Napier Drummond Partners combines decades of experience and a shared dedication to client care, continuing to serve the local Essendon and broader Melbourne community.
